Exfoliants

Exfoliation is the process of scrubbing away dead skin cells from the surface layer of your skin, so that you can promote newer cell growth.  You should only exfoliate after using a cleanser to ensure that you are not rubbing dirt, oil or makeup onto the layer of skin below.  Following up with a toner and/or moisturizer would work well to protect the newly exposed layer of skin.
